Star serves as the Legislative Director to Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, and acts as the office liaison to Los Angeles Unified School District. Star assists the Councilmember on the council floor, and is responsible for briefing and staffing the Councilmember on the Homelessness and Poverty Committee (Chair), Health, Education, Neighborhoods, Parks, Arts, and River Committee, Energy, Climate Change, and Environment Justice Committee, Public Safety, Public Works, and Ad Hoc Committee on the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Star worked on Councilmember O’Farrell’s campaign as a Field Coordinator with a primary focus on the Armenian community. Previously, she spent five years as a school Counselor, coordinating all services for students. She also coordinated the Gifted and Talented program, preparing its grant plan, identifying and recommending students, and conducting parent committee meetings. Star served as an English Learner Coordinator, reclassifying students and monitoring academic progress of reclassified students of an Independent Study School with LAUSD.
Star holds a M.S. in Counseling and Leadership and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
