Pedestrian safety is the top transportation priority for Councilmember O’Farrell. Throughout his time in office, he has completed many pedestrian safety projects, including:
New, signalized traffic signals and crosswalks, with a focus on neighborhoods near schools
Speed humps to help calm traffic in residential areas
“Bump outs” and sidewalk extensions to help increase the sidewalk area available for pedestrians
Sidewalk replacement and repair, including projects that Councilmember O’Farrell has funded directly through his office’s discretionary resources
