LOS ANGELES - Working to address the need to support communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 as well as our essential workers, Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell is organizing a vaccination clinic to provide thousands of first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to those who are eligible in Council District 13.
The vaccine clinic will launch over a six week period on Tuesday, March 9 to sites in various communities throughout the District. Hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday, from 9am to 3pm. Both first and second doses will be administered to those who register.
Pre-registration is encouraged and appointments will be scheduled from 9am to 12pm. Walk-ups will be accommodated from 12pm to 3pm if supplies are available.
Both first and second doses will be administered to those who register. Individuals who are interested in being vaccinated must fill out an initial interest form, made available in English and Spanish, at bitly.com/cd13vaccine. The form will be used to determine eligibility for the program and does not guarantee a vaccination.
As of March 2, eligible recipients include both CD13 residents and those who are employed in CD13 as education workers, food and agricultural workers, seniors who are age 65 and older, healthcare workers, childcare workers, law enforcement personnel and emergency service responders.
“The 13th District is home to many groups that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, including essential workers, seniors and communities of color, who have been unable to reach City and County operated vaccination sites due to working long hours, travel barriers or accessibility issues,” said Councilmember O’Farrell. “The local vaccination clinic I am launching in the 13th District helps solve this challenge by bringing the vaccine directly to Angelenos in a safe and convenient way.”
The 13th Council District includes the neighborhoods of Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Echo Park, Elysian Valley, Glassell Park, Historic Filipinotown, Hollywood, Koreatown, Little Armenia, Rampart Village, Silver Lake, Thai Town, Virgil Village, Westlake North, and Wilshire Center. Residents who have questions about the Council District 13 COVID-19 vaccination program can contact our District Office at 213-207-3015 or email CD13RSVP@lacity.org.
