David Giron serves as the Senior Advisor to Councilmember O'Farrell. David's current focus is on State, County and other cross jurisdictional matters that affect the 13th District.
During Councilmember O'Farrell's first six years in office, David served as the Legislative Director and oversaw all legislation and policy adopted by the City Council, including Indigenous Peoples Day, LA banking reform, e-cigarette regulation and the Straws-Upon-Request Ordinance to name just a few.
Prior to working in the 13th District, David worked for Councilmember Paul Koretz in the 5th District. David served as Legislative Deputy and assisted the councilmember on the council floor. In this role, David maintained a focus on Budget and Finance and Public Safety Committees, as well as covered labor issues.
David was raised in Los Angeles, but has Salvadoran roots. His parents are from a little town called Jucuapa, in the state of Usulután.
David graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Political Science. In his spare time, David volunteers at the Salvadoran - American Leadership and Education Fund (SALEF), with a focus on immigrant rights and educational assistance to needy communities.
