George Hakopiants

Field Deputy

George serves as Councilman O’Farrell’s Field Deputy for East Hollywood, and parts of Los Feliz and Koreatown. As Field Deputy, he works with constituents, government agencies, local non-profit organizations, businesses, and neighborhood groups to obtain safer communities, cleaner streets, and overall improvements to quality of life in East Hollywood. 

Prior to joining Team Mitch, George was a Fellow at Coro Southern California, a cross-sectoral public policy leadership program with over sixty years of service in the greater Los Angeles area.  Before becoming a Coro Fellow, George served as the Executive Director of a non-profit Greek-American cultural and political advocacy group. In addition to his nonprofit experience, George has held internships in various municipal and federal offices such as the U.S. Senate. 

George was born and raised in Los Angeles, and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2012. Having grown up in an immigrant community, George speaks Armenian and Spanish. 

In his spare time, he enjoys drawing, painting, photography, graphic design, reading, traveling, and learning new languages.
